Patna, March 23 (NationPress) Tragically, four individuals lost their lives in two distinct road incidents in the districts of Gaya and Begusarai, according to officials on Monday.

The first incident occurred in Begusarai, where a married couple was fatally struck by a high-speed vehicle marked with 'Police' insignia on Monday morning. This accident took place in the vicinity of the Srinagar Dhala area, falling under the Sahebpur Kamal Police Station's jurisdiction.

The victims have been identified as Nathuni Yadav (60) and his spouse Indu Devi (52), both residents of Srinagar village.

As per police reports, the couple had ventured out for their usual morning stroll when a fast-moving Renault car (registration number BR01HS6374), which reportedly had a 'Police' sticker on its windshield, collided with them.

The collision's force was so intense that both individuals succumbed to their injuries immediately, with the front section of the vehicle suffering significant damage. There are allegations that this car is associated with a senior police official.

In the aftermath of the incident, local residents convened at the scene and initiated a protest by obstructing the road with the bodies, resulting in a massive traffic jam in both directions. Upon receiving the alert, police teams arrived, and a substantial force led by the Ballia DSP was deployed to restore order and calm the frustrated crowd.

Authorities have taken custody of the bodies and have commenced legal processes, including transferring them for a post-mortem at Sadar Hospital, Begusarai.

SHO Sintu Kumar confirmed the occurrence and stated that a comprehensive investigation is in progress to determine the factors contributing to the accident. A case involving reckless and negligent driving has been filed against the car's driver at the Sahebpur Kamal police station, and the accused will face justice shortly.

In a separate tragic incident in Gaya, two young men lost their lives due to a motorcycle collision near Kewali village along the Panchanpur main road on Monday. Reports indicate that both victims were married.

Following this incident, enraged family members and local citizens staged a blockade on the road. Police later intervened, controlled the situation, and have begun an investigation into the incident.
