Patna, Feb 11 (NationPress) Three individuals, including a woman, lost their lives while two others sustained injuries in a tragic road incident in Bihar's Kaimur district on Tuesday morning.
The mishap took place at Muthani village under the jurisdiction of Mohania police station on NH-19, when an auto-rickshaw flipped over after colliding with a stationary truck.
As per police reports, the victims were on their way back from Prayagraj after participating in the Mahakumbh festivities when the accident occurred.
The auto driver reportedly dozed off, resulting in the crash with the parked truck on the highway.
The deceased have been named as Anju Singh, spouse of Pappu Singh from Daltonganj, Rajkumar Singh from New Area Town, Aurangabad, and Pappu Kumar (the auto driver).
The injured individuals are Kanchan Singh, wife of the late Rajkumar Singh, and Anjali Kumari, daughter of Rajkumar Singh. Both are currently receiving treatment at Bhabua Sadar Hospital.
After the incident, the officer in charge at Mohania police station, Priyash Priyadarshi, confirmed the situation and stated: "Five individuals were traveling in the auto after bathing in Prayagraj. The driver fell asleep and collided with the parked truck. Consequently, three people, including a woman, lost their lives, and two others were injured. The bodies have been returned to the relatives following autopsy."
In a related incident, two young students were killed and twelve others were critically injured in a road accident in Bihar’s Aurangabad district on February 7.
This deadly accident occurred close to Devkali village under Obra police station in the district.
Earlier, on January 30, three individuals died, and another was seriously injured in a collision involving two motorcycles in Aurangabad district.
This unfortunate event transpired near the Pratappur crossing in the Bandeya police station area of Goh block.
Authorities have urged motorists to be vigilant while driving long distances to avert such tragic accidents.
