Agartala, Feb 5 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, stated on Thursday that the state administration is dedicated to offering optimal support to those in need, ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible within the region. Telemedicine is becoming increasingly vital in providing advanced medical services.
While speaking to the public during the 62nd session of Mukhya Mantri Samipeshu (CM’s Aam Darbar), Saha emphasized that individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds should refrain from incurring unnecessary costs by seeking treatment outside the state unless specialized care is absolutely necessary.
“In numerous cases, advanced medical services can now be accessed right here in Tripura. Thanks to telemedicine, individuals can receive specialized medical consultations without the need to travel out of state,” the Chief Minister remarked.
During the event held at his official residence, Saha, a qualified dental surgeon himself, attended to medical and other concerns from residents across the state, instructing officials to act promptly to resolve these issues.
He provided a cheque of Rs 4 lakh as financial aid to Anukul Das of Anandnagar, who recently lost his son in a tragic accident.
In response to requests for medical support, Saha, who is also responsible for the Health and Family Welfare portfolio, directed the Health Department to ensure immediate treatment and the supply of essential medicines to Bijankanya Malsom from Paschim Taichlong village in Amarpur subdivision, who sought assistance for her father's medical care.
The Chief Minister also tasked officials with arranging advanced care for Swapan Pal of Ganki in Khowai district and Biswajit Dhar of Dharmanagar, both diagnosed with complex aplastic anaemia.
Several others, including residents of Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Singerbil, requested support for treatment related to heart disease and other critical conditions, to which the Chief Minister assured all available help.
Senior officials, including Health and Family Welfare Secretary Kiran Gitte, Social Welfare Secretary Tapas Roy, and Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Samit Roy Chowdhury, along with senior medical officers, were present during the event.
