A representative from the BSF stated that the border patrol units in the Tripura region, following specific intelligence reports, executed a search operation in a wooded area close to the Indian village Bhawanipur located in the Sepahijala district.
During this operation, the alert BSF personnel discovered 30,000 methamphetamine tablets (weighing around 3kg), estimated to be worth Rs 3 crore.
Moreover, in a distinct collaborative effort, BSF teams, in conjunction with the Forest Department and Assam Rifles, eradicated 3,00,000 ganja plants cultivated across seven plots spanning roughly 10 acres in the village of Dhanirampur, also within the Sepahijala district.
