Agartala, Aug 13 (NationPress) Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha proclaimed on Wednesday that the state government is diligently addressing the shortage of teachers in all government and government-aided schools.
During the platinum jubilee celebration of Bardowali Higher Secondary School, the Chief Minister emphasized that individuals are born without knowledge and gradually acquire it from their mothers, nature, and educational institutions.
Saha, who also oversees the education sector, mentioned that the government is in the process of establishing an education hub in Tripura.
Recognizing the pivotal role of teachers in student success, the former doctor turned politician stated that there is no replacement for knowledge, and students should have an innate curiosity to learn about everything.
“Many individuals lack formal educational qualifications yet possess substantial knowledge. We must also learn from our communities. It’s essential for students to engage in social work and consider the nation’s welfare,” Saha remarked.
He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign’ in 2022 to foster a spirit of freedom among all citizens. “The Indian national flag symbolizes our pride, and we must honor the Tricolour,” Saha asserted.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the National Education Policy is being executed nationwide following PM Modi's vision. He stated that there should be a uniform curriculum across the country, which has been introduced through NCERT.
In Tripura, the state government has also adopted the NEP to ensure that local students can compete with their peers from other regions, he added.
“Our students are brimming with talent; they just require a suitable platform, training, and opportunities to hone their skills. Our children excel in education, cultural events, and other activities. We are advancing Nipun Tripura to enhance education for children, and PM Shri Schools are being established here. Initiatives like Saharsh have also been launched. Additionally, we have introduced the Tripura School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework to foster healthy competition among schools and identify areas needing improvement,” Saha stated.
He also revealed that the state government has created over 19,000 government jobs and offered opportunities for entrepreneurship. “In every aspect, education and knowledge are vital. I have been informed about the teacher crisis in government-aided schools, and I have already discussed this with officials to address the issue,” he concluded.
