Bhopal, May 17 (NationPress) Two young men were brutally stabbed to death in Seoni, igniting outrage among their families and the residents of Parasapani village in the Keolari police station area.
In a dramatic response, furious locals set fire to a liquor shop and blocked Mandla Road to voice their anger. This tense situation led to the immediate involvement of senior police officials. The villagers organized a Chakka Jam (road blockade) that lasted for approximately two hours.
Eventually, the blockade was lifted after receiving assurances from the authorities.
In an interview with IANS, Additional Superintendent of Police GD Sharma confirmed the involvement of four suspects who escaped the scene right after the crime was committed.
When inquired about the motive behind the murders, Sharma mentioned it was due to an old rivalry, but did not disclose more details about the nature of the conflict.
The tragic event took place in Parasapani village of Keolari around 12:30 a.m. on Friday night, according to him.
As per police reports, Aman Baghel (20) and Rupak Baghel (25) had gone to Keolari after being called by a local family to a temple.
However, they inadvertently encountered the accused, where they were viciously attacked with knives. The accused included a father and son duo, as stated by the police.
The critically injured victims were swiftly transported to Keolari Hospital by local residents for urgent care. Unfortunately, due to the severity of their wounds, doctors referred them to the District Hospital in Seoni, where both were pronounced dead. Their post-mortem examination took place in Seoni on Saturday.
The Keolari police have lodged a case and initiated an investigation into this double homicide.
“Family members of the victims have identified the alleged criminals, and they will soon face justice,” the police officer stated.
Following the incident, family and local residents rushed the victims to the hospital. A relative of the victims claimed that Aman died on the spot, while Rupak succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
