Sehore, March 6 (NationPress) In a shocking incident, a man in his middle age reportedly took the lives of his nephew and niece due to a land disagreement in the Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, as confirmed by police.
The tragic event unfolded in Dharmapuri village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Siddiganj police station in Astha town, approximately 60 km from Bhopal, the state capital.
As per the police report, the suspect, Harisingh Malviya, murdered his younger brother's children, Sheetal (20) and Kuldeep (19).
Initial investigations indicate that an ongoing feud over family property escalated, leading to the violent confrontation in which Harish assaulted his brother Jagdeesh Malviya's children, as stated by the authorities.
Reportedly, Sheetal and Kuldeep were on their way to an exam center, clutching their admit cards, filled with hopes of a brighter future through education. However, just a short distance from home, they were ambushed by their uncle, Harish Malviya, who allegedly struck them multiple times with a stick.
Family members disclosed that the children were brutally beaten until they lost consciousness.
They were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, where medical staff later pronounced them dead following examinations.
Following the horrific deaths of the two young individuals, distraught family members caused a disturbance at Astha Civil Hospital, where the bodies were taken for an autopsy. A police constable was reportedly assaulted during this chaos.
Nonetheless, police managed to restore order, and an autopsy was conducted on the victims.
In the meantime, law enforcement has initiated a vigorous search for the fugitive uncle, Harish Malviya, who absconded shortly after the attack.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Sunita Rawat, revealed that multiple teams have been established, and searches are being conducted in forests and other suspected locations to apprehend him.
Senior police inspector Girish Dubey stated that the situation was stabilized following the deployment of extra forces in the village where the crime occurred and at the hospital.
"A case has been filed, and the search for the perpetrator is ongoing," he remarked.
Raju Singh Baghel, the station in charge, noted that the crime scene has been meticulously examined, and evidence has been collected. Given the charged atmosphere in the village, additional police personnel have been stationed to avert any further escalation.
Meanwhile, Jagdish's other brother, Mukesh Malviya, expressed to reporters, "We lost two children due to the negligence of Siddiqganj police station. We submitted four applications in the past two months to SP Deepak Kumar Shukla, SDOP Damodar Gupta, and the Siddiqganj police station."
