Madhya Pradesh: One Fatality and Two Injuries in Gwalior Shooting Incident

Bhopal, Dec 10 (NationPress) One individual lost his life while two others sustained injuries following a confrontation between two factions of the same family over a land dispute in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district, according to police reports on Tuesday.

The altercation took place in Maharajpura village, where the two groups faced off, each asserting their claim to the contested land, leading to heated exchanges and verbal insults.

As per police accounts, tensions escalated when one faction began to cultivate the land, prompting objections from the opposing group. This disagreement intensified into a fierce argument, resulting in a violent confrontation after Veer Singh arrived at the scene and opened fire.

Nihal Singh Gurjar, who was tilling the disputed agricultural land, suffered a bullet wound and collapsed. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The two other individuals who were shot have been identified as Vakil Gurjar and Shailendra Gurjar, with Shailendra's condition reported as critical, requiring transfer to Indore for advanced medical care.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that the conflict revolved around a field owned by Nihal Singh. While both parties exchanged insults, it was Veer Singh Gurjar who fired at Nihal Singh.

An official stated that a significant police presence has been established in the village to prevent further violence, as both families reside in close proximity.

Nihal Singh's remains have been sent for a post-mortem examination, and searches for the suspects are underway. "A formal case has been filed, and we are actively pursuing the suspects. Some of the assailants, who have also sustained gunshot wounds, are receiving treatment in hospitals," the police reported.
