Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh), Nov 13 (NationPress) A family dispute over agricultural land in the Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh escalated into violence, resulting in the deaths of three relatives and multiple injuries, according to police reports released on Thursday.

The incident took place in Karaiya Bainet village on Wednesday night. Two brothers, along with their respective family members, formed opposing factions and engaged in a brutal attack wielding swords, lathis, axes, and various weapons, leading to a tragic confrontation.

Police reports indicate that the discord stemmed from a dispute over four acres of agricultural land owned by 75-year-old Khillan Singh Yadav, a resident of Karaiya Bainet.

This land was allocated to Khillan Singh’s elder son, Mahendra Yadav.

On Wednesday evening, Mahendra’s younger brother, Krishnabhan Yadav, arrived at the contested land with a tractor, allegedly attempting to damage a standing mustard crop planted by Mahendra Yadav. This sparked a verbal altercation between the siblings that rapidly escalated into a violent encounter.

Khillan Singh, along with other family members from both sides, joined the fray, equipped with swords, axes, and other implements, transforming the incident into a full-blown attack.

The clash resulted in the immediate deaths of two family members, with several others suffering injuries.

Both Khillan Singh Yadav and a relative named Pawan Yadav sustained severe injuries and died later during treatment at a hospital in Ashoknagar late on Wednesday night, as per police statements.

Krishnabhan Yadav, who was transferred to a Bhopal hospital for advanced treatment, succumbed to his injuries early on Thursday morning, the police added.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ganjendra Kanwar confirmed on Thursday that the bodies of the deceased were returned to their families following post-mortem examinations, with last rites being conducted under police supervision.
