Initial investigations indicate a long-standing feud between Suresh Patel and his eldest son, Ajay Patel, on one side, and the other three sons on the opposite side, centering on land ownership disputes.
The situation escalated when a pathway adjacent to the house was reportedly obstructed, igniting a conflict.
According to police sources, Suresh Patel, along with his eldest son and a nephew, allegedly launched an attack on the other family members during the skirmish.
A sharp object, believed to be a spear, was utilized in the incident, resulting in the death of Vijay Patel.
The assailants fled the scene promptly, and heightened tensions have been reported in the village.
SDPO Rajneesh Priyadarshi confirmed the details, stating, "The conflict arose due to a land dispute. One individual has lost his life. The police are actively investigating and conducting raids to capture the suspects."
Authorities noted that the dispute had been brewing for an extended period, with prior incidents of hostilities recorded among the family members.
An FIR has been filed under the appropriate sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sahita (BNS) Act against Suresh Patel, his son Ajay Patel, and one other individual at the Bairia police station.
The deceased's body has been recovered and dispatched to GMCH for a post-mortem examination.
Law enforcement continues its probe, and further legal measures will be enacted based on the findings.
