Bhopal, May 29 (NationPress) In a devastating incident on the Damoh-Chhatarpur State Highway close to Mara village in Madhya Pradesh, three individuals lost their lives on Thursday when a government-operated sports utility vehicle collided with a motorcycle. The force of the collision was so intense that it resulted in the immediate deaths of all three riders.

The deceased have been named as Chandan Ahirwar (26), Sonu (25), and Sandeep Ahirwar (24), hailing from Vadon Pahadi village in Tejgarh.

According to Abhishek Tiwari, the city superintendent of police, they were returning home after attending a wedding in Jerath village the previous evening when the tragedy struck. Following a post-mortem, their remains were returned to their families.

Authorities confirmed that the vehicle involved is designated for governmental responsibilities, although it was clarified that it was not engaged in police activities at the time.

“A case has been filed against the vehicle's driver, who has been apprehended, and legal action for reckless driving has commenced,” the officer stated, adding, “The victims were critically injured; we rushed them to a nearby hospital, but they were pronounced dead on arrival.”

Witnesses noted that the vehicle was traveling at an exceedingly high speed, making the moment of impact hard to grasp.

“We have completed the necessary arrangements for compensation for the families of all victims. Local revenue officials have provided a compensation of Rs 40,000 to each deceased's family. Additional financial assistance will follow according to various governmental schemes,” the officer mentioned.

In a separate but equally tragic event, another accident took place earlier in the morning near Sundarpur village in the Tikamgarh district, where two motorcycles collided head-on.

This incident resulted in the instantaneous deaths of two men identified as Bhagwat Lodhi from Sundarpur Chopra and Dhaniram Lodhi from Nipsai Talmau, according to police reports.

Additionally, two others, including a woman, were injured and transported to the district hospital for urgent medical care.

The deceased have also been sent for post-mortem examinations. An officer from the Kotwali police station confirmed that the injured are receiving treatment at the district hospital, while the case remains under investigation.
