Bhopal, 1 May (NationPress) On Thursday, two individuals lost their lives and 122 others sustained injuries in two distinct road incidents across Madhya Pradesh.
The first tragedy took place in Sehore, located 40km from Bhopal, where two men lost control of their motorcycle, resulting in a fatal plunge into a well.
The deceased have been identified as Hanif Khan, aged 35, and Siraje, aged 34, both residents of Phoolmogra village. According to police reports, the pair met a tragic end when their motorcycle collided with a well's wall late Wednesday night.
They, along with their bike, fell into the well's depths. Authorities were notified in the early hours of Thursday, and the police subsequently retrieved their bodies, which were sent to Sehore government hospital for a post-mortem.
In another incident, chaos unfolded near the Nagda bypass road in Kamed village, Ujjain district, where a bus traveling from Jodhpur to Indore suddenly overturned.
The private bus reportedly lost control while trying to navigate a narrow road, colliding with a motorcyclist who appeared unexpectedly, causing it to tip over and trapping numerous passengers inside.
Local residents quickly rushed to assist, pulling the injured from the wreckage and transporting them via ambulance to a nearby hospital.
City Superintendent of Police Sumit Agrawal provided insights into the incident, stating that the accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. The bus, which was carrying around 35 passengers, experienced this unfortunate mishap on Ujjain’s Bhairavgarh bypass.
Fortunately, twelve passengers received injuries but are currently stable, as confirmed by the officer.
Police sources suggested that overloading might have played a role in the accident, and they promised a comprehensive investigation. Should negligence be found, appropriate legal actions will ensue.
While the Bhairavgarh police arrived promptly after the report, the swift actions of villagers and passersby had already ensured the injured were rescued and received urgent medical attention.
