Agar-Malwa (Madhya Pradesh), July 18 (NationPress) In a deeply disturbing event, a 10-year-old boy was reportedly murdered in the Agar district of Madhya Pradesh, as confirmed by police on Friday.
The authorities discovered the boy's body stuffed in a sack near a drain in a village under the Bijanagari police outpost. Following the recovery, the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
The victim has been identified as Ayush Meghwal, a 4th-grade student at a private school in Barod village. He had been missing since Thursday evening, according to police reports.
Ayush was residing with his uncle, Devilal Meghwal, while his parents worked as laborers in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district.
Devilal reported Ayush missing on Thursday. Upon receiving this report, police launched a widespread search in the surrounding areas. They ultimately found the body, concealed in a plastic bag near a drain late Thursday. According to Krishnakant Tiwari, the officer in charge at Barod police station, one suspect has been detained and is currently undergoing interrogation. However, the suspect's identity has not been disclosed.
In reaction to the heinous crime against the young boy, local villagers staged a protest on a highway, demanding the death penalty for the perpetrator. The protest was called off after assurances of strict punishment were given.
Motilal Kushwaha, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) in Agar, stated to IANS that the case is sensitive and is being investigated from all possible angles. He emphasized, "A suspect has been detained and is being interrogated. It’s premature to draw conclusions while the investigation is ongoing. This is a grave case, and we are exploring every avenue."
This shocking murder occurred just two days after two brothers, Mayank (9) and Divyansh (6), were brutally slain by their maternal uncle in Seoni district on Wednesday. The accused, Bhojram, encountered the boys while they were heading to school and lured them into an auto-rickshaw under the pretense of buying them a bicycle. After arriving at Janta Nagar Chowk, Bhojram’s friend Shubham joined them, and they subsequently took the children to a forest in Ambamai, where Bhojram murdered them with a knife. Their bodies were later hidden near a drain.
Senior district police managed to solve this horrific case after reviewing over 20 CCTV cameras, leading to the arrests of the suspects on Thursday.
