Patna, Jan 31 (NationPress) The Bhojpur Police in Bihar apprehended three individuals within a span of 24 hours regarding the murder of a 16-year-old intermediate student.

The lifeless body of the victim was discovered in a pit filled with water.

During a press briefing on Saturday, the Station House Officer of Nawada Police Station mentioned that initial investigations indicated that the incident stemmed from a love triangle and personal animosity.

The suspects have been named as Badal Kumar (19), Adarsh Kumar (19), and Anish Kumar (19).

The victim has been identified as Sunny Kumar Singh (16), the son of Upendra Kumar Singh, residing in Ekawana village, Ward-9, under the Barhara police station jurisdiction.

Law enforcement reported that Sunny was found dead with multiple wounds in a water-filled pit close to the Piparhiya bridge in the Muffasil police station area, on the city outskirts.

The Bhojpur police retrieved the corpse and dispatched it to Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.

Investigations disclosed that Sunny’s cousin was involved in a romantic relationship with a woman who was also purportedly linked to Badal Kumar.

Upon learning of this via social media, Sunny confronted the woman, which allegedly sparked resentment.

Authorities claim that the woman incited Badal to commit the murder.

According to the victim’s family, Sunny departed for coaching classes around 10 AM on Friday. While on his way back, he contacted his elder brother Mandeep, mentioning that he had been kidnapped by individuals on a motorcycle. Shortly after, his phone was turned off.

When he failed to return, the family searched for him and subsequently filed a complaint at the Nawada police station, alleging Badal's involvement in Sunny's abduction.

Consequently, the police detained Badal Kumar on Friday night.

During questioning, Badal Kumar admitted to the crime, prompting the police to recover Sunny’s body from the pit.

Further inquiries resulted in the arrests of Adarsh and Anish, who were also implicated in the kidnapping and murder. These two were taken into custody on Saturday.

Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing, with additional arrests anticipated in this case.
