Patna, April 11 (NationPress) In a disturbing event in Trilokwa village situated within the Kesaria police station area of East Champaran district in Bihar, authorities reported that a young man and a girl were discovered brutally murdered in a room late Thursday night.
The victims have been identified as Vikas Kumar Paswan and Priya Kumari.
As per SDPO Satyendra Kumar Singh from the Chakia range, the police have apprehended one Aman Kumar Shah, who is considered the primary suspect and the brother of Priya Kumari.
“The suspect reportedly assaulted the victims using a hammer, causing severe injuries to their heads,” Singh stated.
An FIR has been filed against Shah for murder, and the bodies have been dispatched to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
“Upon receiving news of the incident, a team from the Kesaria police station immediately went to the location. The bodies were discovered lying in a pool of blood inside a room, with evident skull injuries,” the SDPO mentioned.
He also noted that the inquiry is being conducted from all perspectives. The police have summoned a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to gather evidence. The victims' mobile phones have been retrieved and sent for examination. The suspect is currently undergoing interrogation.
Initial investigations indicate that a romantic relationship between Vikas and Priya may have been a potential motive for the crime.
“Vikas received a call around 10 p.m. on Thursday. We advised him against going, but he left anyway. By 1:30 a.m., we were alerted that he was locked inside a room at Aman Kumar Shah’s residence,” recounted Vikas’s mother.
She further remarked that Priya and Vikas had been in regular communication and were reportedly in love.
According to preliminary reports, Priya's brother discovered them in a compromising situation and, in a fit of rage, assaulted both with an iron rod, killing them instantly.
“Aman Kumar Shah has murdered my son. We demand severe action against him and his family,” Vikas’s mother asserted.
The district police are investigating the case to determine the precise sequence of events and the motive behind the slayings.
