The incident unfolded around 3:30 p.m. when a severe disagreement erupted between two brothers, Shrichand and Bhagwati, regarding the erection of a wall on a parcel of occupied land.
This conflict quickly descended into chaos, with both sides resorting to throwing crude hand grenades, commonly referred to as “Hathgola”.
In the midst of this upheaval, Ramshankar Mishra, a 52-year-old man who was sitting on the roof of his home, was tragically struck by one of the grenades, leading to his untimely demise.
Upon receiving reports of this tragic incident, officers from the Tarabganj police station, along with the area officer, rushed to the scene.
The authorities secured the deceased's body and sent it to Gonda headquarters for a post-mortem examination, and further investigations are currently underway.
