Latur, Dec 13 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has significantly changed the lives of impoverished and needy women in Latur district, Maharashtra.
These women are now preparing meals in a smoke-free environment, alleviating many previous struggles.
In the town of Ausa and its rural surroundings, the LPG connections provided through this initiative have liberated women from the hazardous smoke produced by traditional chulhas, enhancing their daily lives with improved safety, health, and convenience.
Shobhabai, an Ujjwala Yojana beneficiary from Ausa town, shared her experience with IANS, stating that her family previously lacked a gas connection and relied on a traditional chulha for cooking.
“The smoke from the chulha caused eye irritation and made it hard to breathe,” she recounted.
With the provision of a complimentary LPG cylinder through the Ujjwala Yojana, these concerns have been resolved. She noted that cooking is now performed in a clean atmosphere, which has also saved her valuable time. Shobhabai expressed her deep appreciation to the Prime Minister for this program.
Another beneficiary, Jyoti, echoed similar sentiments, explaining that cooking with gas has eliminated smoke-related health issues for her family. She remarked that previously, the smoke permeated their home, causing discomfort for both children and elderly family members.
“Since acquiring the gas connection, the living conditions at home have improved dramatically,” she stated.
Jyoti also conveyed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this initiative.
It is essential to recognize that the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a transformative measure for women in rural Maharashtra. This scheme not only facilitates access to clean fuel but also promotes the health, safety, and dignity of women.
In Latur district, numerous women like Shobhabai and Jyoti are reaping the benefits of the Ujjwala Yojana, leading safer, more manageable, and improved lives than ever before.
