Gorakhpur, Nov 1 (NationPress) Encouraging students to engage with books rather than spending excessive time on reels, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Saturday that 1.35 lakh schools across the state have been revitalized as part of Operation Kayakalp, which has successfully integrated libraries into these institutions.
While inaugurating a book fair at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, CM Adityanath remarked, “In Uttar Pradesh, over 1.56 lakh schools function under the Basic Education Council, with 1.36 lakh schools having completed revitalization through Operation Kayakalp. Each of these schools is now mandated to feature a library.”
Emphasizing the importance of knowledge acquisition through reading, the Chief Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated, “When citizens read, the country leads.”
“It is likely that you spend your day watching reels or squandering 5-6 hours on your smartphone. Instead, alongside your academic books, consider exploring literature related to creative fields, modern technology, and connections with both our nation and the world, as well as India’s illustrious past,” advised CM Adityanath.
“Such readings will lay a robust foundation for competitive exams, providing assistance in the future,” he added, as per a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office on the social media platform X.
Addressing the topic of exam-related stress, CM Adityanath mentioned, “PM Modi himself authored a book aimed at the nation’s youth, titled ‘Exam Warriors.’”
Be it your annual examinations or preparation for competitive assessments, this book is crafted in simple, relatable language, filled with brief quotes on achieving success, while also offering valuable strategies for confronting challenges with courage.
During a separate event marking a convocation at an innovation campus in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister called on innovators and the public to seek solutions instead of merely voicing complaints about daily challenges.
A community proactive in solving problems remains at the forefront of progress, he asserted.
Using traffic jams as an example, he pointed out that this issue partly stems from the public's disregard for traffic regulations, including illegal parking on roads.
“Adhering to traffic laws is crucial for our safety and for smoothing our journeys,” he remarked, urging individuals to play a constructive role in society by following these regulations.
CM Adityanath also emphasized the significance of environmental conservation, citing the issue of toxic air in Delhi. “Crop burning and waste incineration generate hazardous gases that affect everyone, including those irresponsibly disposing of waste,” he stated, encouraging socially responsible behavior.
