With millions of devotees anticipated to gather in Prayagraj for this special event, authorities are enhancing all facets of the occasion to ensure safety, comfort, and efficient logistics for every attendee.
The 'Amrit Snan' on Mahashivratri signifies the grand culmination of the Maha Kumbh Mela, which is regarded as one of the largest religious assemblies globally. The importance of this final bath is immense, and the state government has meticulously arranged for the influx of pilgrims to the Sangam Ghat and various other bathing locations, marking the grand finale of this revered event.
In a conversation with IANS, Prayagraj’s District Magistrate (DM), Ravindra Kumar Mandar, elaborated on the extensive measures being implemented to ensure the event's success.
"Preparations for Mahashivratri and the concluding holy bath of the Maha Kumbh are proceeding at full pace. Our esteemed Chief Minister has provided clear directives, and all officials and staff are actively engaged to ensure everything operates smoothly," Mandar affirmed.
"We are consistently gathering feedback from devotees, which allows us to adapt our strategies as necessary. From barricades to security at the temples and ghats, everything is meticulously arranged. Police personnel have also been deployed at critical points to uphold order and safety. The primary focus is on facilitating a smooth experience, from the sacred darshan at Shiva temples to the ritual bath at the Sangam Ghat," he stated.
To alleviate concerns regarding traffic and congestion, the Prayagraj DM reassured that everything is effectively managed.
"We have activated over 110 parking zones throughout the city and coordinated with the police, railways, and the roadways department to maintain smooth traffic flow. Diversion plans are in place, and our officers are stationed at strategic locations to efficiently guide the crowds," Mandar explained.
"The crowd management plan has been meticulously crafted to ensure that every devotee can safely access the fair area and return to their respective locations without difficulties," he added.
