Greater Noida, Sep 29 (NationPress) The third edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) wrapped up on Monday, radiating hope and confidence for the state's economic trajectory.
During the event, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, who served as the chief guest, commended the Yogi Adityanath administration for its commitment to evolving Uttar Pradesh into a prime destination for business and investment.
“Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UP is now on an unstoppable runway,” Goyal remarked, emphasizing that the past eight years have seen a transformation fueled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and the Yogi government’s decisive leadership.
“With secure law and order coupled with robust infrastructure, UP has become a favored choice for investors,” he noted.
Goyal underscored the significance of Swadeshi production, asserting that while foreign companies and technologies may play a role, the focus must remain on production and job creation within India. “This embodies true self-reliance,” he stated.
He characterized UPITS as a remarkable platform that unites government agencies, industries, exporters, MSMEs, startups, and women entrepreneurs.
“This synergy is the genuine formula for Uttar Pradesh’s advancement,” he added.
The Union Minister also honored Team UPEPC, Team ODOP, Team CM Yuva Mission, and Team IEML for their pivotal roles in the trade show’s success.
Highlighting the GST Savings Festival, Goyal pointed out that tax reductions on essential goods would greatly benefit consumers.
He referred to it as the “largest economic reform since Independence,” and contrasted the current state with the pre-2017 era, which was marred by “terror, crime, unfinished projects, and shuttered factories.”
Since the Yogi government took office, over 3,000 new industrial units have been launched, with significant initiatives like the Dedicated Freight Corridor, Expressways, Jewar Airport, and Multi-Modal Logistics Park coming to fruition.
Goyal also acknowledged the achievements of the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, which has proliferated across 750 districts nationwide, boasting over 1,200 products that have gained international recognition.
He announced plans for Unity Malls in Lucknow, Agra, and Varanasi to highlight products from all 75 districts of UP, along with offerings from other states.
Goyal urged business owners to embrace indigenous products and support the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.
“As we observe 11 years of 'Make in India', Navratri, the 'GST Savings Festival', and Antyodaya Day, we must commit to promoting ODOP, backing local industries, and fortifying the foundation of a self-reliant India,” he concluded.
