Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 24 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the ‘Uttar Pradesh Diwas’ celebrations on Saturday, asserting that when the nation commemorates 100 years of its Independence on August 15, 2047, Uttar Pradesh will stand as a fully developed state and will be crucial in realizing a Viksit Bharat.
During his address, Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the citizens of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of the state’s foundation day.
He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated efforts to achieve the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’, while under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the double-engine government is committed to establishing a ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh’.
“We once more reaffirm this commitment. On August 15, 2047, as the nation marks 100 years of its Independence, Uttar Pradesh will emerge as a fully developed state and an essential element of Viksit Bharat. Uttar Pradesh is not just the heart but also the spirit of India, and it is progressively evolving into the growth engine of the country,” stated HM Shah.
The Union Home Minister further declared that Uttar Pradesh will be the driving force behind Viksit Bharat.
“This is a sacred land where Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Baba Vishwanath, Mahavir, and Lord Buddha have blessed the soil with their presence,” he remarked.
Highlighting the state's transformation, Amit Shah noted that there was a time when Uttar Pradesh was merely seen as a labor-supplying region.
“Now, it has become a pivotal force in India’s economy. The Congress, Samajwadi Party, and Bahujan Samaj Party relegated Uttar Pradesh to a ‘Bimaru’ state. The BJP government has altered this narrative, turning it into a state of breakthroughs, ensuring that development reaches every village,” he asserted.
Referring to the Rashtra Prerna Sthal where the ‘One District, One Cuisine’ event was held, Shah mentioned that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath informed him that the location previously housed a garbage mountain spread across 65 acres.
“Today, that garbage mountain has been transformed into a clean and beautiful space. As a BJP leader, I take great pride in this change,” he remarked.
Discussing the initiative, Shah pointed out that the ‘One District, One Product’ scheme has not only gained traction in Uttar Pradesh but has also expanded nationwide.
“It has generated employment opportunities for youth and women. Through ‘One District, One Cuisine’, the Uttar Pradesh government has highlighted the distinctive culinary heritage of each district. I commend everyone involved in this initiative,” he added.
Amit Shah also acknowledged the UP Gaurav Samman 2026 awards, which were awarded to Axiom astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, Physics Wallah founder Alakh Pandey, and poet Hariom Pawar.
“These accolades will further elevate their spirits and motivate others,” he stated.
The Union Home Minister reiterated that Uttar Pradesh has become the leader in the food business sector and that government initiatives are now effectively reaching the grassroots level.
“After 500 years, we completed the construction of the Ram Temple, and in Prayagraj, we successfully hosted the Maha Kumbh,” he added.
Reinforcing political confidence, Amit Shah stated that the BJP is poised to once again govern Uttar Pradesh.
“Dynastic politics cannot foster development in the state. Only the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi, can ensure advancement,” he asserted.
Concluding his remarks, Union Minister Amit Shah noted that Uttar Pradesh now boasts the highest number of airports in the country and that corruption has been substantially reduced.
“I urge the populace to secure the BJP’s victory and once again extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Uttar Pradesh on their foundation day,” he concluded.
