US Vice President JD Vance in Jaipur for Key Speech on India-US Relations

Jaipur, April 22 (NationPress) United States Vice President JD Vance is set to address a significant speech regarding India-US bilateral relations at the Rajasthan International Centre today.

Vance, accompanied by his family and a US delegation, arrived in Jaipur late Monday night as part of a four-day visit to India.

Throughout his stay in the Pink City, Vance plans to tour the historical Amber Fort, which is currently restricted to the public due to enhanced security protocols.

This visit is particularly symbolic, reminiscent of former US President Bill Clinton's visit to Jaipur 25 years ago. The city has been beautifully adorned to welcome this esteemed guest, with intricate decorations embellishing various locations.

The route from New Gate to Tripolia Gate has been covered in white fabric, extending to Badi Chaupar, where the national flags of India and the United States are prominently displayed.

Similar celebratory arrangements are evident along Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, creating a magnificent visual reception for the visiting delegation.

Accompanied by his Indian-origin wife, Usha Vance, and their three children — Ivan, Vivek, and Mirabel — Vice President Vance proceeded directly to the renowned Rambagh Palace upon arrival, where he will be residing during his time in Jaipur.

Before his arrival in Jaipur, Vance engaged in a significant meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter's official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.

The Prime Minister hosted a private dinner for the Vice President and his family, highlighting the strong bond of the India-US relationship.

On the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi expressed, "Delighted to welcome US Vice President J.D. Vance and his family in New Delhi. We discussed the rapid advancements following my visit to the US and my meeting with President Trump."

"We are dedicated to mutually beneficial collaboration, covering trade, technology, defense, energy, and people-to-people exchanges. The India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership will define the 21st Century for a brighter future for our people and the globe," he continued.

Vice President Vance reciprocated his gratitude, stating on X, "It was a privilege to meet with Prime Minister Modi this evening. He is a remarkable leader, and he showed immense kindness to my family."

"I eagerly anticipate working under President Trump's leadership to enhance our friendship and cooperation with the people of India!" he added.

During their discussions, both leaders acknowledged the considerable progress made in the ongoing negotiations for a US-India Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA).

They formally announced the completion of the Terms of Reference for the negotiations, establishing a clear path for future discussions aimed at strengthening economic relationships.

The BTA aims to create a modern trade framework to stimulate job growth and improve economic well-being in both nations. It seeks to bolster bilateral trade and supply-chain integration in a balanced and mutually advantageous manner.

With aspirations of 'Amrit Kaal for India' and 'Golden Age for America', both nations view the agreement as a means to unlock new opportunities for workers, farmers, and entrepreneurs across both countries.

Vice President Vance's visit follows closely after the fruitful meeting between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Modi in Washington earlier this year.

That meeting reaffirmed their shared commitment to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. They also jointly launched the India-US COMPACT (Catalysing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology) for the 21st Century, a strategic initiative based on mutual trust, shared values, and active citizen engagement.

This visit presents both nations with a chance to review the progress made on bilateral commitments and to assess the implementation of the outcomes from the Joint Statement released on February 13.

Moreover, both parties exchanged opinions on regional and global issues of shared interest.

As security measures are heightened for the Vice President's movements in Jaipur, local authorities have deployed round-the-clock police personnel and established a closely monitored convoy system to ensure safety throughout the visit.
