Jaipur, April 22 (NationPress) US Vice President James David Vance, along with his wife Usha Vance and their three children, is currently visiting Jaipur. After landing in New Delhi on Monday, where he engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and toured the Akshardham Temple, JD Vance and his family made their way to Jaipur, arriving late at night. They are residing at the historic Rambagh Palace and started their day on Tuesday with a visit to the magnificent Amer Fort.

The Vance family enjoyed a guided tour of Amer Fort, which was temporarily closed to the public for security reasons. They arrived at the Fort in an open jeep from Hathi Stand, admiring the stunning outer architecture, Mavtha Sarovar, and Kesar Kyari Bagh.

Their journey led them to Jaleb Chowk, where they were ceremoniously welcomed by two elephants, Pushpa and Chanda. These elephants were adorned with traditional Rajasthani jewelry and attire for the special occasion. Pushpa blessed Vance, while Chanda presented him with a garland of flowers.

According to Mahout Ballu Khan, the elephants wore ornaments that are over 350 years old, featuring traditional pieces such as kantha (necklace) and payal (anklets).

During the welcoming festivities, local Rajasthani folk artists performed in honor of the Vice President. Following the welcome, a guide took Vance and his family on a detailed tour of the Fort.

After the Amer Fort tour, the Vice President plans to visit the Panna Meena Kund and the Anokhi Museum. Following a short break at Rambagh Palace, JD Vance will head to the Rajasthan International Center (RIC) at 2:45 p.m. to address the US Business Summit.

This summit will emphasize trade and bilateral partnerships between India and the United States. Later, Vance will meet with Governor Haribhau Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore at Rambagh Palace, discussing ongoing Indo-US collaborative programs and economic ties.

Before lunch, Vance will receive a briefing on Jaipur’s iconic landmarks, including Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, and the city’s distinct pink architecture. A traditional Rajasthani lunch will follow for the Vice President and his family.

Security measures have been heightened around Amer Fort, with both US security teams and local police on alert to ensure the safety of the Vice President's family.

According to officials, on April 23, he is scheduled to depart for Agra from Jaipur Airport at 9 a.m., where he will spend three hours at the Taj Mahal complex before returning to Jaipur after 2 p.m. Here, he will be warmly welcomed at the City Palace by Deputy CM Diya Kumari.

The US Vice President is set to return to the US on the morning of April 24, as stated by officials.
