US Vice President JD Vance Visits Taj Mahal in Agra with Family

Agra, April 23 (NationPress) US Vice President J.D. Vance, along with his wife Usha Vance and their three children -- Ivan, Vivek, and Mirabel -- arrived in Agra on Wednesday during his ongoing visit to India. They were warmly greeted by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Upon arrival in Agra, the Vance family headed straight to the magnificent Taj Mahal.

CM Yogi shared images from the visit on X, stating, "A warm welcome to Hon'ble US Vice President J.D. Vance and his family to Uttar Pradesh, the sacred heartland of India, known for its eternal devotion, rich culture, and spiritual heritage."

Security measures in Agra were intensified ahead of the prominent visit, with personnel stationed along primary routes and near tourist attractions.

Vance, who arrived in New Delhi on Monday with a senior delegation, began his India tour with a visit to the Akshardham Temple in the capital. He subsequently engaged in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After their meeting, the Vance family traveled to Jaipur late at night.

In Jaipur, the US Vice President and his family explored the historic Amer Fort. Riding in an open jeep from the Hathi Stand, Vance admired the outer walls of the fort, Mavtha Sarovar, and the Kesar Kyari Bagh, fully experiencing the heritage of the Pink City. Their visit to the fort was highlighted by colorful cultural performances and traditional Rajasthani hospitality.

Later at the Rajasthan International Centre, Vance applauded Prime Minister Modi's leadership, remarking, "I told Prime Minister Modi last night -- he has approval ratings that would make me envious."

He recognized PM Modi as a "very tough negotiator" who "fights vigorously for India's commercial interests."

Discussing India-US relations, Vance stated, "The US and India will advance together through mutual collaboration across various sectors."

He reaffirmed the US' commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and emphasized the strategic significance of the India-US partnership, stating, "The 21st century will be shaped by the strength of this relationship."

Vance also highlighted three essential pillars that will define the expanding collaboration between the two nations: defending nations, constructing great things, and innovating with advanced technologies.

Emphasizing President Trump's global economic vision, Vance remarked, "President Trump aims to rebalance global trade so that the US, along with allies like India, can create a better future."

The visit of the US Vice President signifies a crucial moment in bilateral relations, with both sides likely to explore deeper collaboration in areas such as defense, infrastructure, technology, and innovation.
