Lucknow, Aug 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, on Wednesday, inaugurated and laid the groundwork for 545 development projects totaling Rs 2,264 crore in Bareilly’s Nath Nagri.
This initiative comprises the inauguration of 222 projects valued at Rs 1,258 crore and the foundation stone laying for 322 projects worth Rs 1,004 crore.
Notable projects include the Nath Corridor, measures for flood protection, construction of bridges, bypass roads, road widening initiatives, an Unani Medical College, rural water supply schemes, as well as various projects under the Power Department and the Municipal Corporation.
The Nath Corridor aims to transform iconic temples such as Alakhnath, Tripathinath, Gopeshwarnath, and Pashupatinath into major hubs of spiritual tourism.
The Chief Minister also distributed appointment letters to more than 6,000 youth selected through the Rozgaar Mela and issued certificates and tablets to beneficiaries of various welfare initiatives.
He emphasized that eligible youth are receiving collateral-free, interest-free loans starting from Rs 5 lakh, which can increase to Rs 7.5 lakh upon timely repayment, and further up to Rs 10 lakh.
In a critique of previous administrations, CM Yogi Adityanath pointed out that before 2017, government jobs were distributed like personal favors within 'uncle-nephew' networks.
In contrast, he highlighted that the current administration has created 8.5 lakh government jobs in the last eight years through a transparent, merit-based process, with over 12,000 positions
Discussing the transformation of Bareilly, the CM noted that countless devotees now engage in Jalabhishek at the Nath Corridor, which is evolving as the city's new identity.
“The double-engine BJP government is dedicated to merging heritage with development. Bareilly, once plagued by communal riots before 2017, is now gaining recognition for the Nath Corridor and spiritual tourism,” he asserted.
Further addressing the audience, the Uttar Pradesh CM sharply criticized the Opposition’s politics of appeasement.
He stated that certain anti-social elements had plotted to undermine the image of the Kanwar Yatra, but their efforts were thwarted by public awareness and proactive administration. Today, the Yatra symbolizes social unity.
“Some individuals attempted to insult public sentiments and tarnish tradition, but the vigilance of society and the strong law-and-order framework of the state thwarted such attempts,” he stated.
He reiterated that government initiatives are now accessible to all segments of society without bias towards caste, religion, or geography.
“This is the new India, progressing with the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Bareilly is advancing swiftly, and the double-engine government is committed to ensuring joy, prosperity, and inclusive development,” he concluded.
The Chief Minister inaugurated fresh projects, including the Ramganga Flood Protection, widening of Sanda Pal Marg, Unani Medical College, Municipal Corporation Office, Power Department Building, and Gas Conservation Projects, and laid the foundation stone for several others.
CM Yogi also announced that, with Central backing, tourism enhancement projects have been approved for locations like Ramnagar Fort and Ahichhatra Parshvanath Digambar Jain Temple.
As a special initiative for women, CM Yogi declared free bus travel across the state on the occasion of Rakshabandhan (August 8, 9, and 10). This service will be available in both city transport and UPSRTC buses, applicable to women and their accompanying passengers.
