During his remarks about the ongoing Dharali rescue operation, the Chief Minister emphasized that the primary concern is ensuring the safety of the affected individuals.
“In spite of challenging weather conditions, over 1,000 individuals have been successfully rescued so far, including local inhabitants and pilgrims from various parts of the nation,” he stated.
Injured individuals have been taken to the district hospital and AIIMS, where proper medical care is being provided. Dhami noted that sufficient supplies of medications, milk, food grains, and clothing have been dispatched to the Harsil and Dharali regions. To restore power in Harsil, UREDA’s powerhouse has been activated, while UPCL is in the process of repairing the damaged electrical infrastructure.
Mobile connectivity has been reinstated, and two 125 KV generator sets have been sent to the affected area. Road access in Harsil is undergoing repairs, with a Bailey bridge currently being constructed at Gangnani. Roads affected by landslides are expected to be reopened shortly, with the Harsil road anticipated to be fully operational by Tuesday, according to the CM.
The Chief Minister declared that families whose residences have been destroyed will receive immediate aid of Rs 5 lakh for rehabilitation or relocation. A three-member committee, led by the Revenue Secretary, has been established to evaluate the damage, displacement, and rehabilitation requirements, including losses to apple orchards.
Dhami mentioned that residents with damaged homes in Pauri district’s Sainji and Bankuda villages will also qualify for assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh from the state government.
“Wherever the disaster has inflicted damage in the state, the government will provide all necessary support,” he affirmed.
The Chief Minister further mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has guaranteed the state full central support and that the Centre is offering all possible cooperation under his guidance.
