Vadodara tops Gujarat regional allocations with ₹1,432 crore to 12,908 entrepreneurs
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Vadodara has recorded the highest financial disbursement among all regions covered under Gujarat's pre-summit outreach, with the state government releasing ₹1,432.41 crore to 12,908 industrialists on 25 June. The allocation surpasses earlier disbursements in Mehsana, Rajkot, and Surat, and comes ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit for Central Gujarat.
Key Disbursements and Beneficiaries
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi distributed the assistance at a stakeholder meeting in Vadodara on Thursday. The breakdown reveals a broad spread across sectors: under the MSME category, 9,171 beneficiaries received ₹402.58 crore, while the textile sector saw 3,490 beneficiaries receive ₹471.62 crore. Large industries accounted for ₹523.15 crore distributed among 213 beneficiaries, with 34 beneficiaries under other schemes receiving ₹35.06 crore.
How Vadodara Compares to Other Regions
According to official figures presented at the programme, Vadodara's allocation of ₹1,432.41 crore exceeds those of the three earlier regional summits — Mehsana at ₹905 crore, Rajkot at ₹956 crore, and Surat at ₹1,344 crore. Officials attributed the higher figure to Vadodara's expanding industrial base and its concentration of large-scale manufacturing units.
What the Government Said
Addressing industrial associations and stakeholders, Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi said the new industrial policy introduced under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has 'increased Gujarat's attractiveness for industries from across India and abroad, contributing to fresh investments and expansion of industrial activity in the state.' He also noted that the government 'continues to pursue industry-friendly policies while working to resolve issues related to industrial estates and enterprises in a structured manner.'
Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit: What's Next
Sanghavi appealed to industrialists to participate actively in the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit for Central Gujarat, the fourth in the series following editions in Mehsana, Rajkot, and Surat. Managing Director of INDEX-B, Keyur Sampat, presented an overview of the summit's framework at the meeting. The Vadodara edition is expected to deepen government-industry engagement in the Central Gujarat belt, which encompasses significant chemical, engineering, and textile clusters.
With the regional summit circuit now reaching its most industrially dense zone, all eyes will be on whether Vadodara's momentum translates into fresh investment commitments at the upcoming event.
