New Delhi, Jan 1 (NationPress) - The Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, revealed on Thursday that the inaugural Vande Bharat sleeper train is set to commence operations between Guwahati in Assam and Howrah in West Bengal.

This train will feature 16 coaches, comprising 11 three-tier AC coaches, 4 two-tier AC coaches, and 1 first-class AC coach, accommodating approximately 823 passengers.
Designed for semi-high-speed travel, the train can reach speeds of up to 180 km/h. It includes ergonomically designed berths with enhanced cushioning, automatic doors with vestibules for seamless movement, and CCTV surveillance in every coach.
Vaishnaw mentioned that a completely new bogie design has been developed, featuring advanced suspension. The design standards have been elevated, with interiors and ladders incorporating ergonomic elements and enhanced safety features.

The train is equipped with the modern KAVACH safety system and includes an emergency talk-back unit for communication between passengers and the train manager or loco pilot in case of emergencies.
