Jaipur, Sep 25 (NationPress) Rajasthan is poised to welcome another Vande Bharat Express on Thursday, designed to connect Bikaner with Delhi Cantt. The semi-high-speed train will embark on its inaugural journey, exclusively reserved for invited guests.
Starting Sunday, general passengers can book their tickets for this route, with reservations already underway.
Virtually flagging off the train will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Banswara, while the event in Bikaner will be presided over by Union Minister and local MP Arjun Ram Meghwal, alongside senior railway officials.
Local MLAs from both Bikaner East and West have also received invitations.
According to Divisional Railway Manager Gaurav Govil, the inaugural trip will commence at 1:30 pm from Bikaner, with the train stopping at six stations: Sridungargarh, Ratangarh, Churu, Loharu, and Mahendragarh. The stop at Churu will last five minutes, while the other stations will have brief halts of just two minutes.
From September 28, the train will run daily for passengers. The finalized schedule indicates that the train will depart Bikaner at 5:40 a.m., arriving at Delhi Cantt by 11:55 a.m. On its return, it will leave Delhi Cantt at 6:45 p.m., reaching Bikaner at 8:05 p.m.
This new service features 400 chair car seats and 40 executive chair car seats, providing a faster and more comfortable travel experience between Rajasthan and the national capital.
Interestingly, the rake initially designated for this route was changed; a saffron-colored Vande Bharat train was sent to Bikaner but subsequently redirected to Jodhpur. In its place, a white rake from Jodhpur will be permanently assigned to the Bikaner–Delhi Cantt route.
This launch marks Rajasthan's fifth operational Vande Bharat Express, enhancing rail connectivity within the state and with Delhi.
Railway officials assert that this new service will significantly shorten travel times and enhance convenience for both daily commuters and long-distance travelers.
