Gandhinagar, Dec 26 (NationPress) To bolster the state's rapidly expanding healthcare manufacturing sector, the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has unveiled an ambitious initiative to establish a specialized Medical Device Park at Nagalpar in the Rajkot district.

This project is designed to create a comprehensive ecosystem for the medical device industry, facilitating research, production, quality assurance, and global exports all under a single umbrella.

The forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot is poised to be a significant platform to exhibit the investment prospects generated by the Nagalpar Medical Device Park to an international audience. Renowned as a center for orthopaedic and surgical device manufacturing, Rajkot will host the conference with an emphasis on showcasing opportunities across various sectors, including engineering, ports and logistics, agriculture, and food processing within the Kutch and Saurashtra regions.

Scheduled for January 2026, VGRC Rajkot will gather global investors, industry executives, and senior government officials, providing direct engagement opportunities to establish strategic partnerships, secure land allocations, and strengthen their presence in India's burgeoning medical device market.

The proposed Nagalpar Medical Device Park, covering approximately 336 acres, is envisioned as an all-encompassing industrial hub, designed to optimize the entire value chain—from initial research and development to production, certification, and access to international markets.

This initiative illustrates the state government's dedication to establishing Gujarat as a preeminent destination in India's swiftly evolving medical device manufacturing arena.

The advantageous positioning of Nagalpar is a critical logistical benefit. The site is located about 125 km from Pipavav Port, 198 km from Kandla Port, and 243 km from Mundra Port, ensuring efficient access to essential maritime trade routes.

Rajkot International Airport further bolsters connectivity, linking the Saurashtra region directly with major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. The medical device park is also situated a mere 9 km from National Highway-27, a vital arterial road connecting Ahmedabad with Jaipur and Delhi, facilitating the smooth transit of goods and raw materials across key domestic markets.

To cater to the requirements of contemporary manufacturing units, the park will feature plug-and-play infrastructure equipped with advanced facilities. These include a dependable water supply system capable of handling 3.5 million litres per day (MLD), solid waste management systems, and a sewage treatment plant (STP).

For a consistent power supply, land has been allocated for a 66 KV substation. Additionally, the project encompasses plans for a shared warehouse and logistics center, aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency and minimizing operational costs for manufacturers within the park.

The establishment of the Nagalpar Medical Device Park underscores Gujarat's strategic emphasis on high-value manufacturing and its ambition to become a national leader in the medical device sector. With this venture, Gujarat continues to affirm its status as an investment-friendly state, merging infrastructure readiness with sector-targeted policy support to fuel sustainable industrial growth.
