Patna, Aug 31 (NationPress) After traversing 23 districts of Bihar in just 14 days, the Voter Adhikar Yatra, spearheaded by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, is set to conclude on Monday at Patna's Gandhi Maidan with a grand road show and rally.
The Yatra, which commenced in Sasaram (Rohtas district), has been framed by the Opposition as a crusade to 'protect democracy and the voting rights of the common people of Bihar.'
According to the schedule for September 1, the leaders of the INDIA bloc will offer floral tributes at Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Gandhi Maidan from 10:50 a.m. to 11:05 a.m.
The procession will head from Mahatma Gandhi's statue to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's statue via S.P. Verma Road, Dak Bungalow Chowk, Kotwali Police Station, Nehru Path, and the Income Tax roundabout, concluding at Ambedkar Park, Nehru Path by 12:30 p.m.
The leaders have dubbed this march as the Gandhi to Ambedkar march.
At 12:30 p.m., they will pay floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at his statue.
From 12:40 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., a public rally is scheduled to take place.
This rally will feature speeches from Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, and VIP chief Mukesh Sahani, alongside RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and former CM Rabri Devi.
Throughout the Yatra, leaders from the INDIA bloc have criticized the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central government and the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging that over 65 lakh names have been removed.
They contend that this operation was conducted to favor the BJP and its allies by systematically eliminating the names of the poor and marginalized, who are seen as traditional supporters of the Opposition.
“The deletion of lakhs of names from Bihar's voter list represents not only political manipulation but a direct assault on democracy and the citizenship rights of the populace,” the leaders asserted during the campaign.
