New Delhi, Aug 31 (NationPress) Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a reduction in the price of commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 51.50, effective September 1. Following this adjustment, the price for a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will now be Rs 1,580.
Previously, OMCs had also cut the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder by Rs 33.50. Before that, on July 1, there was a price reduction of Rs 58.50.
Despite these changes, there has been no alteration in the pricing of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders, as confirmed by the companies. The latest cut provides relief to commercial consumers nationwide following the monthly price revision.
In June, oil companies had previously announced a Rs 24 reduction for commercial cylinders, bringing the rate to Rs 1,723.50. Back in April, the price was Rs 1,762, and in February, there was a minor decrease of Rs 7, but March saw a slight increase of Rs 6.
Experts believe that this price adjustment of commercial gas cylinders will directly benefit restaurants, hotels, and various commercial establishments that rely on these LPG cylinders for their daily operations.
The pricing changes are part of the routine monthly revisions influenced by global crude oil prices and other market dynamics.
Additionally, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a targeted subsidy of Rs 300 per 14.2 kg cylinder for up to 9 refills annually (and proportionately for 5 kg cylinders) to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) during FY 2025-26, involving an expenditure of Rs 12,000 crore.
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), launched in May 2016, aims to provide deposit-free LPG connections to adult women from economically disadvantaged households across the nation. As of July 1, 2025, approximately 10.33 crore PMUY connections have been established across the country.
