Lucknow, Oct 15 (NationPress) Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav launched a fierce critique against the BJP on Wednesday, calling on the citizens of Bihar to oust the saffron party in the upcoming November Assembly elections.
During a press briefing, Akhilesh Yadav stated: "We have successfully defeated the BJP in Awadh within Uttar Pradesh. Now, it is the responsibility of the Bihar populace to ensure its defeat in Magadh."
He accused the BJP of causing rampant unemployment and soaring inflation in Bihar, urging voters to back candidates from socialist and allied parties.
"The BJP has only exacerbated joblessness and inflated prices in Bihar. It is essential for the public to support those who advocate for social justice and equality," he emphasized.
In a jab directed at the Uttar Pradesh government, he remarked: "This administration fabricates lies while seated at a pristine table. Just when it was time for them to depart, they suddenly remembered to clean the Gomti River. The SP had previously devised a plan to cleanse the Gomti and the Varuna. This initiative should proceed based on that framework."
Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh for its inability to maintain law and order, alleging that violence against Dalits, backward classes, and minorities has peaked under their governance.
Referring to NCRB statistics, he stated: "The police force is being politically manipulated, allowing criminals to operate unchecked."
Commenting on the government's proposal for 'cow tourism', Akhilesh Yadav quipped: "First, we need to safeguard people from wolves before discussing cow tourism. One of our MLAs reported 43 instances of people being attacked by wolves. We have no objection to serving cows, but let's prioritize saving Uttar Pradesh from bulls first."
Continuing his critique, he claimed the BJP lacks a governance model to present. "They reference encounters to assert law and order, but how can incidents like Banthra occur if that's the case? There’s no fertilizer available, sugarcane prices are stagnant, and farmers’ lands are being seized," he asserted.
He also ridiculed the BJP’s 'swadeshi' narrative, labeling it superficial. "The government is distributing 'swadeshi' powder while importing goods from abroad. If they genuinely support swadeshi, they should impose tariffs on Chinese imports," he concluded.
