A warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has already been declared for the region.
It is important to note that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is currently in north Bengal to conduct administrative review meetings.
An official from the Meteorological Centre mentioned that multiple districts in South Bengal may begin experiencing rain from Thursday evening.
Simultaneously, the weather office has predicted scorching temperatures in several areas of South Bengal, including Kolkata.
In the next 24 hours, heavy rain is anticipated in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar. There is a high likelihood of very heavy rainfall in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar on Saturday.

"The weather is set to change significantly in north Bengal. Many districts are expected to witness heavy rainfall, and a warning has been issued accordingly.
