Bengaluru, Oct 10 (NationPress) The Opposition leader in the Karnataka Legislative Council and prominent BJP figure, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, remarked on Friday that there is a significant link between the so-called "November Revolution" and the "dinner meeting" convened by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
As Siddaramaiah approaches the halfway mark of his term in November, speculation is rife that he may need to relinquish the Chief Minister position to Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President D.K. Shivakumar, in accordance with the power-sharing arrangement.
Nevertheless, Siddaramaiah asserts that he intends to serve the full five-year term, while Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar and his supporters vocally endorse his aspirations for the Chief Minister role.
During a media interaction at the State BJP headquarters, Jagannath Bhavan, in Bengaluru, Narayanaswamy indicated that significant developments are unfolding within the Congress party in the state.
He stated, "The dinner meeting is called by the Chief Minister himself. Some Ministers are conducting separate meetings. All these indicate a potential upheaval within the Congress. The very occurrence of this dinner meeting is noteworthy. Has there been a similar gathering in the past two and a half years?"
He questioned, "Could this signify the conclusion of Siddaramaiah's tenure as Karnataka's Chief Minister? With hints from D.K. Shivakumar's supporters, could November mark the commencement of Shivakumar's term? After denying Dalits the Chief Ministerial post for over 75 years, will the Congress finally rectify this by appointing a Dalit as Chief Minister?" Siddaramaiah pondered.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the name of Home Minister G. Parameshwara is circulating as a possible successor for the Chief Minister's position.
He added, "Even Siddaramaiah's close associates are discussing this. Is Siddaramaiah contemplating the inclusion of G. Parameshwara in the leadership? These inquiries are now emerging among the public," Narayanaswamy elaborated.
Addressing the topic of Indira kits containing rice and pulses, the BJP leader remarked, "Among the five guarantees, one promised five kg of rice. The Congress has never provided rice autonomously; they have only distributed what was supplied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Why does the Congress seek to rebrand it under the name of late PM Indira Gandhi? This merely reflects the Congress' internal subservience."
In response to another question regarding jailed Congress MLA K.C. Veerendra's alleged plan to invest Rs 300 crore for the Congress high command in exchange for a Cabinet position, Narayanaswamy asserted, "Reports suggest that Congress MLA Veerendra was willing to contribute around Rs 300 crore for the upcoming Bihar elections in return for a Ministerial role. I've also heard that recent Enforcement Directorate raids uncovered assets worth approximately Rs 400 crore, including 50 kg of gold seized just yesterday (Oct 9)."
"This Congress party is mired in corruption. He is not an isolated case; there are numerous families within Congress involved in corrupt practices," he alleged.
