Lucknow, April 15 (NationPress) Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday ridiculed the Yogi Adityanath administration, asserting that its zero poverty initiative named after B.R. Ambedkar will ultimately be another 'jumla'.

In a post on the social media platform X, Yadav remarked that just as the government's 'zero tolerance' ended up being zero, its 'zero poverty' promise will also turn out to be a deception by the BJP.

Criticizing the government, he stated: 'Zero was meant for mathematics, not for spreading falsehoods among the public. Poverty is eliminated through action, not mere words. The BJP government is zero in performance. They will exit, leaving everything at zero.'

Continuing his critique, he asserted, 'The BJP can only mislead the public by renaming previous schemes like 'Ambedkar village' and 'Lohia village'. Before making new promises, the BJP should deposit Rs 15 lakh into every account and evaluate the conditions of the adopted villages.'

'First, they should remove the dust from promises such as housing for all and water for every household. At the very least, they should refrain from deceiving the impoverished.' said the former chief minister.

In another statement, Yadav condemned the assault on Jain munis resting in a temple in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh.

He called for a comprehensive investigation to uncover the intent behind this malicious act and what anyone hoped to achieve by attacking monks who have renounced worldly possessions.

The SP leader claimed that such violent acts foster an atmosphere of fear among the minority community in a secular nation, leading to feelings of insecurity.

'Such incidents damage social harmony and hinder the development of a peaceful, non-violent, educated society, ultimately affecting the country's social fabric and holistic growth.' he stated.

Importantly, on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the 'zero poverty' initiative in the state will bear the name of B.R. Ambedkar. This program, set to launch later this month, aims to guarantee that no disadvantaged individual is deprived of basic necessities.
