Chennai, June 21 (NationPress) Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries, HD Kumaraswamy, emphasized that yoga transcends mere physical activity; it is a significant journey towards inner peace, mental clarity, and collective well-being. The union minister participated with hundreds of Salem Steel Plant employees and their families at Hill View Stadium in Salem township to celebrate the International Day of Yoga.

“Thanks to the visionary guidance of PM Narendra Modi, yoga has evolved into a global initiative that connects humanity through wellness and mindfulness,” the minister articulated in a post on X.

“I applaud the efforts of SAIL and the Steel Ministry for merging tradition with industrial discipline, demonstrating that a healthy mind and body are crucial for our nation's productivity and advancement,” he added.

He further encouraged, “Let us embrace this spirit daily for a healthier, stronger, and more harmonious India.”

During his visit to the Salem Steel Plant, a SAIL unit, the minister praised the technological sophistication and discipline observed there.

"This plant embodies the true essence of Make in India," he noted. His visit aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's broader vision to position India as a global leader in steel production, aiming for 300 million tonnes (MT) by 2030, achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070, and realizing a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
