Maharajganj, April 5 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, made a one-day visit to Maharajganj on Saturday, where he praised the recent passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament, asserting that it will put a stop to illegal land encroachments under the guise of Waqf.

He stated, “No one will be able to seize lands purportedly belonging to the Waqf Board anymore.”

The Bill aims to guarantee that waqf properties are utilized for community welfare projects, including schools, hospitals, colleges, barrages, and housing developments.

During a public address, the Chief Minister committed to eradicating poverty in the state within the next three years, aspiring to make Uttar Pradesh the leading state in the nation.

Earlier, on the occasion of Ashtami during Vasanti Navratri, the Chief Minister offered his prayers at the Maa Banailiya Devi shrine.

CM Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 629 development projects totaling ₹654 crore, including the highly anticipated Rohin Barrage. He announced that the barrage, located in the Nautanwa assembly constituency, would be named in honor of Maa Banailiya Devi.

This barrage, which has been requested for over 25 years, is designed to assist farmers by providing flood protection and irrigation, while also boosting employment through tourism and related activities.

Highlighting his government's accomplishments over the past eight years, CM Yogi mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has advanced from being the seventh-largest economy in India in 2017 to now ranking as the second-largest.

He also discussed the Saryu Canal Project, initiated in 1972, which was completed only after the BJP assumed power.

The Chief Minister pointed out advancements in the education sector, emphasizing the establishment of Atal Residential Schools for workers’ children and Chief Minister Composite Schools in every development block. “Previously, it was 'one district, one mafia'; now, it’s 'one district, one medical college',” he remarked.

CM Yogi also addressed the improvements in law and order, noting that festivals, once riddled with fear, are now celebrated in peace.

“Farmers are being empowered, youth are being employed, daughters are being safeguarded and made self-reliant,” he stated, adding that diseases like encephalitis, dengue, and malaria have been effectively controlled.

In Maharajganj, he announced plans to promote gaushalas (cow shelters) and dairy production, with a Kendriya Vidyalaya and a sports stadium set to be inaugurated soon.

Maharajganj, he noted, leads the state under the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Yojana, with 1,000 youths receiving interest-free loans. The district administration will also focus on promoting Kala Namak rice, Sri Anna, natural farming, dairy, and fisheries.
