New Delhi, Jan 23 (NationPress) Describing the current AAP administration in Delhi as an 'ATM for dispensing falsehoods', Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ignited the BJP’s Assembly election campaign on Thursday. He urged voters to replicate their Lok Sabha election decision against Arvind Kejriwal and his team, accusing them of 'divisive politics'.
Speaking at a large election rally in Kirari Assembly constituency for BJP candidate Bajrang Shukla, CM Adityanath stated, “Their initial financial aid policy for priests did not cover temple pujaris and later excluded heads of Valmiki temples.”
“The AAP’s agenda fails to include priests from Valmiki temples,” he added, mentioning that the remuneration scheme for heads of religious establishments began with Moulvis as part of their polarization strategy.
“Their 'divide and rule' approach was evident even in the honorarium scheme for heads of worship places,” he remarked, labeling AAP as a 'jhoot ka ATM'.
Highlighting the achievements of “double-engine” governments in states surrounding Delhi, including UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, the saffron-clad UP CM criticized the Kejriwal and Atishi administrations for failing to clean the Yamuna, manage garbage, enhance infrastructure, and ensure affordable, uninterrupted electricity.
Regarding the polluted Yamuna, he stated, “The water quality in Prayagraj is significantly better than in Delhi.”
He also accused the AAP government of neglecting the improvement or beautification of any religious site in Delhi. “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, significant developments have occurred in Kashi, Ayodhya, and Prayagraj. Currently, 1,000 worship places in UP are being renovated,” he claimed.
Critiquing the Delhi government for frequent power outages and high electricity costs, the UP CM said, “The price for a unit of power in Delhi is nearly three times the Rs 3.50-Rs 4 we charge in UP.”
Requesting a substantial mandate for the BJP in Delhi, CM Adityanath noted that during the Lok Sabha elections, AAP’s leading figure requested votes, asking if he would remain in jail based on their verdict.
“By delivering a 7-0 mandate in the LS elections in favor of the BJP, the citizens of Delhi have already expressed their disapproval of AAP. I am confident they are eager to echo this sentiment in the Assembly elections,” he stated.
The elections for a 70-member Assembly will take place in Delhi on February 5, with results announced on February 8. The BJP is counting on prominent campaigners like PM Modi and CM Adityanath to reclaim power in Delhi after 27 years.
