New Delhi, Dec 26 (NationPress) In a motivational speech delivered to the youth of India on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas at Bharat Mandapam on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the Gen Z and Gen Alpha to chase their ambitions, remain committed to their values, and guide India towards becoming a developed nation.
Referencing the extraordinary courage displayed by the Sahibzadas, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, the Prime Minister asserted that age does not define one’s capacity for greatness and encouraged the youth to find motivation in national ideals.
While addressing members of the Yuva Bharat organization, PM Modi stated, "You are part of Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Your generation will elevate us to unprecedented heights."
He quoted a Sanskrit shloka – "If a small child speaks of wisdom, we must embrace it" – praising the young achievers.
"You are capable of accomplishing significant feats at a young age; you have already proven this. However, your achievements should be viewed through a different lens – aspire to reach the skies with your dreams. The nation stands firmly behind you with unwavering resolve," the PM emphasized.
Contrasting past limitations with present-day opportunities, the Prime Minister remarked, "Previously, youth were hesitant to dream due to an atmosphere of despair perpetuated by the old system. Today, the country actively seeks talent and provides robust platforms, empowered by 140 crore citizens."
He highlighted essential resources such as the Internet, startup initiatives, and targeted growth platforms.
A significant aspect of his address was the New Education Policy (NEP), which prioritizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and inquiry over rote memorization. "For the first time, the government is emphasizing innovative learning and the development of cognitive processes," PM Modi said, commending Atal Tinkering Labs for nurturing innovation and design thinking.
Recalling Veer Sahibzada Zorawar Singh’s acknowledgment of challenging paths, he advised the youth: "Preserve your wisdom; it leads to national advancement. Stay focused – do not be swayed by fleeting trends. Your thoughts should be grounded in principles. Learn from ideals and esteemed figures."
PM Modi asserted that personal accomplishments should uplift others, positioning youth at the forefront of policies related to skill development, internships, sports promotion, fintech, manufacturing, and Yuva Bharat platforms.
"New avenues are emerging across all sectors as India stands as one of the youngest nations," he added, linking the NEP's interdisciplinary approach and technological integration to the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The event, commemorating the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas, underscored the importance of empowering youth in fulfilling India's aspirations on a global stage, he said.
