New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) In February, over 225 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions and 43 crore e-KYC transactions were executed, reflecting a 14 percent increase year-on-year, according to government announcements made on Friday.

The e-KYC service has been pivotal in delivering a smooth and secure experience for clients in both banking and non-banking financial sectors. It has also played a significant role in enhancing the ease of conducting business across various fields.

As reported by the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), by the conclusion of February 2025, the cumulative Aadhaar authentication transactions exceeded 14,555 crore, while total e-KYC transactions surpassed 2,311 crore.

Aadhaar's face authentication feature is witnessing a surge in adoption. In February alone, 12.54 crore face authentication transactions were registered, achieving a record monthly high since its launch in October 2021.

Currently, 97 entities have begun utilizing Aadhaar’s face authentication technology, with recent additions including Kotak Mahindra Prime Limited, PhonePe, Karur Vysya Bank, and J&K Bank.

Since its inception, Aadhaar face authentication transactions have totaled over 115 crore, with nearly 87 crore occurring in the ongoing financial year, as stated by MeitY.

The AI/ML-driven face authentication solution, developed internally by UIDAI, is now widely adopted across finance, insurance, fintech, health, and telecommunications sectors.

Numerous central and state government agencies are also utilizing this technology to facilitate the effective delivery of benefits to intended recipients.

With its increasing implementation across banking, finance, and other industries, Aadhaar is pivotal to India's digital evolution, the Ministry noted.

In January, Aadhaar authentication transactions in India exceeded 284 crore, highlighting the expanding significance of digital identity verification in everyday life.

This represents a 32 percent rise compared to the same month last year when 214.8 crore transactions were documented, according to the Electronics and IT Ministry.
