AP-Maker-Lab-On-Wheels Initiative to Foster Technology Awareness in Students

Amaravati, Jan 3 (NationPress) The AP-Maker-Lab-On-Wheels program, utilizing a specially designed vehicle, aims to enhance students' understanding in Andhra Pradesh regarding the newest advancements in technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and the Internet of Things.

Introduced on an experimental basis at Mangalagiri by the state government with the partnership of leading software firm Infosys, this initiative is set to revolutionize technology learning.

On Friday, Nara Lokesh, the Minister for Education, Information Technology (IT), and Electronics, reviewed the prototype of the AP-Maker-Lab-On-Wheels.

The program will soon be rolled out across the state by the AP Skill Development Corporation in collaboration with Infosys.

This initiative seeks to enlighten students about the significant transformations occurring globally in the field of technology.

As part of a pilot project, this vehicle will visit schools in Mangalagiri to raise awareness among students, with plans to extend this project to educational institutions statewide.

Infosys' collaboration in facilitating transformative skill opportunities for students is highly commendable, remarked Lokesh.

The core objective of the AP Maker-Lab-On-Wheels is to deliver free digital and STEM education opportunities to students, even in the most remote areas of the state, aligning with the goals of Digital India and the Environmental, Social and Governance Vision-2030.

The vehicle will conduct a 90-minute interactive learning session, providing students with free access to various courses through the Infosys Springboard platform, after which they will receive World-Class Technology certificates.

Modern amenities, including laptops, tablets, and essential kits, will be available at the workstations.

Infosys plans to invest Rs 5 crore to equip the lab bus and cover an annual operating cost of Rs 40 lakh, in addition to supplying course materials and trainer support.

On average, Infosys will invest Rs 1,500 per student, aiming to reach 4,800 students every three months.

Representatives from Infosys stated their goal is to raise awareness among four batches of 20 students each day.

The Managing Director of the AP Skill Development Corporation, G. Ganesh Kumar, along with Narasaraopet MP Lavu Krishnadevarayalu and Infosys staff, were also present.
