The proposed reforms for Special Economic Zones (SEZs) aim to streamline procedures and foster growth, with the minister encouraging industries to enhance manufacturing capabilities, diversify supply chains, and reduce reliance on imports.
“India is now producing toys locally and exporting them to 153 countries, owing to consistent policy support and rigorous quality standards. During the 16th Toy Biz International B2B Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, I urged the sector to concentrate on robust branding, attractive packaging, and innovative design to access global markets,” Goyal stated in a post on the X social media platform.
The first shipment of 1 metric tonne of rose-scented litchis from Pathankot, Punjab, was dispatched to Doha, Qatar last week.
“Additionally, 0.5 metric tonne of litchis was sent to Dubai, marking a significant enhancement in India’s fresh fruit exports. While mangoes, bananas, grapes, and oranges are leading, fruits such as cherries, jamuns, and litchis are gaining international attention, bolstering India’s prospects in global markets and benefiting our farmers,” emphasized the Commerce Minister.
‘Indian Mango Mania 2025' took place in Abu Dhabi to showcase India's premium mango varieties, including GI-tagged and regional specialties from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and various eastern states. Mango-based delicacies were also on display. The UAE continues to be the top export destination for Indian mangoes, the minister informed.
“The inaugural National Skill Olympiad aimed at promoting seafood value addition and developing a skilled workforce in the sector was conducted. This initiative is focused on positioning India as a global hub for value-added seafood exports,” he added.
