New Delhi, Sep 20 (NationPress) The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has implemented a noteworthy adjustment aimed at simplifying the process for professionals to transfer their provident fund balance during job transitions.
According to a circular issued earlier this week by the Union Labour Ministry, members can now access and download Annexure K, a vital document necessary for PF transfers, directly from the EPFO Member Portal.
Previously, employees had to request Annexure K, which was shared solely between PF offices, often resulting in delays and frustration. This reform allows members immediate online access to the document, enhancing both convenience and transparency.
Annexure K is critical for the PF transfer process as it contains comprehensive information regarding an individual's provident fund account, including member details, PF balance with interest, complete service history, job specifics, and joining and exit dates.
When changing employment, this transfer certificate ensures that the pension service and PF accumulations are accurately transferred to a new account.
The Labour Ministry indicated that this new regulation aims to facilitate a smoother transfer process, allowing employees to monitor the status of their transfer applications online and verify their PF balance and service duration in the new account.
To access the document, employees can log into the EPFO member portal, navigate to the online services section, choose 'Track Claim Status', and select the option to download Annexure K in PDF format.
Steps to download Annexure K: Log in to the EPFO member portal with your credentials, navigate to ‘Online Services’, choose ‘Track Claim Status’, and click ‘Download Annexure K’.
Additionally, the Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, recently introduced a feature called ‘Passbook Lite’, allowing members to conveniently view their passbook and summarized contributions, withdrawals, and balance directly through the member portal, eliminating the need to visit the passbook portal.
This enhancement, part of the EPFO's commitment to delivering effective, transparent, and user-friendly services, is expected to improve the overall user experience by providing all essential services, including passbook access, via a single login. Nonetheless, members can still utilize the existing 'Passbook Portal' for a complete view of passbook details, including graphical representations.
