Chennai, Jan 5 (NationPress) The second schedule of director Vetrimaaran's highly anticipated action film 'Arasan', starring actor Silambarasan (commonly known as Simbu), has officially commenced and is progressing rapidly.
Renowned producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, whose production company V Creations is behind this project, confirmed this news during his address at the audio launch of the film 'Moonwalk'.
Thanu announced that the second schedule is currently ongoing, emphasizing that Simbu has been very punctual on set.
Insiders affiliated with the production team have corroborated this information. The second schedule is taking place in Chennai, with plans to shoot at multiple locations across the city, ramping up production from January 20.
It's worth noting that the first schedule of filming concluded in Kovilpatti on December 21 of the previous year.
An insider had earlier informed IANS, "The first schedule finished on December 21, with the next phase likely starting in the initial week of January."
The film is generating significant buzz for various reasons. Firstly, it marks the inaugural collaboration between Simbu and the acclaimed director Vetrimaaran. Additionally, the film is being produced by one of the leading producers in Tamil cinema, Kalaipuli S Thanu. Excitement has further escalated with the recent announcement that actor Vijay Sethupathi has joined the cast.
A promotional teaser released by the makers last year starts humorously with director Nelson appearing as himself.
Simbu informs director Nelson that what he is about to reveal is entirely factual. He discusses real victims, perpetrators, and locations, but requests Nelson to include a disclaimer in his film, cautioning that many cases he references are still pending trial. He states that if this information is disclosed, it could lead to trouble for numerous individuals, including innocent parties, lawyers, politicians, police officers, and even judges.
As Simbu conveys this, the makers of 'Arasan' release a disclaimer.
"If a disclaimer is issued, even if the events depicted in the film are true, no one can question you," he tells a visibly anxious Nelson. He adds that his own case is forthcoming and he will return to elaborate further.
As he enters the courtroom, he receives coaching from his lawyer. Upon taking the stand, the judge informs him of charges regarding three murders committed in a single night and asks for his plea. Simbu insists he is not involved, yet subsequent scenes portray him as the perpetrator of the gruesome acts.
The teaser indicates that this will unveil a story previously untold from the realm of 'Vada Chennai'. Recently, the makers declared the title of the film as 'Arasan'.
Vetrimaaran's collaboration with Simbu will also feature Andrea Jeremiah, Vijay Sethupathi, Samuthirakani, and Kishore in significant roles, with music composed by Anirudh.
It is important to note that director Vetrimaaran has recently dispelled rumors regarding a sequel to his much-anticipated film 'Vada Chennai'. He clarified that while 'Arasan' showcases Simbu in the lead role, it is not 'Vada Chennai 2', as some media outlets speculated; however, the narrative of 'Arasan' will be set in the universe of 'Vada Chennai'.
