The planned Data Centre, to be located in Sector-14, Gandhinagar, will feature a seven-storey building spanning 2,44,725 sq ft. It will include a modern record room equipped with compactor systems, a conference and training hall, and even a museum. The completion of this construction is anticipated by December 2026.
Importantly, this centre will also safeguard historical land measurement records dating back to 1888, originating from the colonial period.
Vishwakarma emphasized that the project's goal is to furnish citizens with seamless digital access to land records while providing secure backup storage to protect against potential damage or loss due to natural or man-made disasters.
“This advanced Data Centre will guarantee that even if original documents are misplaced, a copy can always be retrieved,” he informed the House.
