IIM Ahmedabad's decades-long record of institution-building and producing leaders across sectors made it the obvious partner for top law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in establishing the Cyril Shroff-IIMA GC Leadership Academy, according to Paridhi Adani, Partner and Head-Gujarat at the firm. Speaking on Monday, 10 August, Adani said the collaboration was rooted in IIM Ahmedabad's willingness to look beyond conventional legal education and explore law's broader role in the economy.

Why IIM Ahmedabad Was Chosen

'It's an institute that stands so much for institutional building, for developing so many leaders of this country and we were amazed at how openly they accepted the idea,' Paridhi Adani said. She noted that the institute's director and faculty had contributed their time, energy, and vision to the initiative over the preceding months, describing the engagement as genuinely collaborative rather than transactional.

Adani added that IIM Ahmedabad had already been examining the intersection of law, policy, and enterprise — a perspective that aligned closely with the academy's founding purpose.

The Cyril Shroff-IIMA GC Leadership Academy is designed to equip general counsels with capabilities that go well beyond traditional legal advisory roles.
