New Delhi, Jan 16 (NationPress) Senior representatives from QS World University Rankings, based in the UK, praised India's initiatives in skill development and its impressive second-place position in the first-ever 'QS World Future Skills Index'. This achievement is attributed to the forward-thinking strategies implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at fostering skills that are essential for the future job market.
Ashwin Fernandes, the Executive Director at QS World University Rankings, remarked that this is a significant milestone for the citizens of India.
"For the first time, India has outperformed several developed nations, boasting an industry that is prepared to recruit for future job roles. We extend our congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his proactive measures to advance India, particularly through the skills initiative," Fernandes stated.
He further noted, "The 2020 National Education Policy is poised to showcase its effectiveness in these rankings. India's progress across various metrics is evident, with education playing a crucial role in this ascent."
Jessica Turner, CEO of the organization, highlighted that India stands as the second globally for the future of work in their World Index, trailing only the US.
"This underscores the innovation within the Indian economy and its capacity to generate future-oriented job opportunities that are accommodating graduates from Indian universities while fostering economic growth both domestically and internationally," she explained.
PM Modi also acknowledged the insights from the 'QS World Future Skills Index', emphasizing that over the past decade, the government has focused on empowering youth by equipping them with skills that promote self-reliance and wealth creation.
The 'QS World Future Skills Index' has identified India as one of the most adept job markets for emerging technological skills, placing it second in the Future of Work category, following the US and ahead of Canada and Germany.
