New Delhi, Jan 28 (NationPress) The online professional networking platform LinkedIn announced on Tuesday that it is currently evaluating the ‘news banner’ feature in India. This initiative aims to assist professionals in effortlessly discovering and remaining updated on significant news stories.

The LinkedIn News Banner will be prominently displayed at the top of users’ feeds, featuring crucial and timely news articles. By clicking on this banner, members can access more in-depth content, including relevant articles and posts from LinkedIn.

This content is carefully curated by a reliable team of editors at LinkedIn, incorporating insights from leading publishers and journalists. The feature will present stories from the previous 24 hours, ensuring that members receive real-time updates.

Users can dismiss a story by clicking the “x” located in the top-right corner, which will hide the banner for 24 hours. Notification preferences can also be modified within the feed preferences settings.

“The professional landscape is evolving rapidly, and it’s crucial to stay informed about the latest developments,” stated Nirajita Banerjee, Sr. Managing Editor, LinkedIn News India, in a post on the platform. Banerjee highlighted that the editorial team encompasses “over 600 million users across 134 countries in 14 languages.”

“We are testing this new news banner, right at the top of your feed, to showcase emerging and developing stories on LinkedIn that influence the professional sphere,” she added. Banerjee also shared a video to inform users on how this new feature can aid them in keeping up-to-date with real-time professional insights and news.

This new feature is presently undergoing tests in the US, Canada, and India, and is also accessible on mobile devices.

In addition, LinkedIn has recently introduced an AI-driven feature aimed at assisting job seekers in finding suitable employment and recruiters in sourcing the right talent.

This innovative feature will enable job seekers to comprehend how their skills and experiences align with available job positions. This rollout comes in light of a new report from the professional networking site, which indicates that job searching and recruitment have become increasingly challenging.
