New Delhi, May 20 (NationPress) The fintech company MobiKwik has disclosed a significantly larger consolidated loss of Rs 56.03 crore for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024–25 (Q4 FY25), a stark contrast to a minimal loss of just Rs 67 lakh during the same period last fiscal (Q4 FY24).

According to a filing with the stock exchange, the firm's loss escalated from Rs 55.2 crore in the preceding quarter (Q3 FY25).

For the complete financial year FY25, MobiKwik reported a total loss of Rs 121.5 crore, marking a significant decline for the Gurugram-based company, especially after posting a profit of Rs 14 crore in the previous fiscal year (FY24).

In Q4, MobiKwik's revenue from operations experienced a slight year-on-year (YoY) increase of 1.43%, reaching Rs 267.78 crore compared to Rs 264.98 crore in Q4 FY24.

However, when looking at the previous quarter, revenue dipped by 0.6% from Rs 269.47 crore.

On an annual level, the company achieved a robust 33.9% revenue growth, climbing to Rs 1,192.49 crore in FY25 from Rs 890.31 crore in FY24.

Despite this growth, the company's expenses surged significantly. In Q4, total expenses increased by 22% YoY to Rs 324.28 crore, up from Rs 265.70 crore a year earlier.

Sequentially, expenses also rose by 2.2% from Rs 317.14 crore in Q3. For the entire year, expenses soared by 49% to Rs 1,271.88 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 853.09 crore in FY24.

A substantial portion of the spending came from payment gateway fees, which reached Rs 147.05 crore in Q4, accounting for over 45% of the company's total quarterly expenses.

In spite of the increasing losses, MobiKwik successfully expanded its user and merchant base. By the end of FY25, the company recorded 176.4 million users, adding 4.4 million new customers in the fourth quarter alone.

Over the full year, 20.6 million users joined the platform. On the merchant front, MobiKwik registered 4.59 million merchants, with 76,000 added in Q4 FY25 and 0.53 million throughout FY25.

Upasana Taku, Executive Director, Co-founder, and CFO of One MobiKwik Systems, commented on the performance, noting that the payments business displayed remarkable strength, growing threefold YoY.

She emphasized the company's intention to leverage AI in the upcoming year to enhance revenue growth and improve margins via intelligent automation.

MobiKwik shares were trading at Rs 277.3 on Tuesday, down by Rs 1.65 or 0.59% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
