New Delhi, Oct 2 (NationPress) Embracing naturopathy and yoga in our everyday lives serves as a genuine homage to Mahatma Gandhi, stated the Union Minister of State for Ayush (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav on Thursday.
This remark was made during a celebration of Gandhi Jayanti at the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune.
“Mahatma Gandhi was a steadfast supporter of naturopathy,” Jadhav remarked while delivering the keynote speech. He encouraged citizens to incorporate this medicinal practice into their daily routines.
Inviting everyone to adopt Gandhiji’s “everlasting principles of truth and non-violence,” he emphasized: “Engaging in naturopathy and yoga is the finest tribute we can pay to the Father of the Nation.”
During the event, the Minister also launched a book centered on Mahatma Gandhi's philosophies. Following this, he took part in a tree planting initiative at NIN’s Yewalewadi campus.
In a related note, the Ministry of Ayush wrapped up the Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025 campaign with a special ‘Swachhotsav’ procession to mark Gandhi Jayanti.
The march, led by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, commenced from Ayush Bhawan and ended at INA Metro Station in the national capital, symbolizing a united effort towards a cleaner India. The event also featured floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi Ji, honoring his enduring vision of cleanliness and altruism.
The Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025 initiative, co-hosted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs along with the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, was observed from September 17 to October 2.
This fortnight involved focused cleanliness operations in office spaces, basements, parking lots, and gardens, executed under the campaign ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’, a Preventive Health Check-up for Safaimitras at AIIA, and outreach programs with street food vendors to enhance awareness regarding hygiene and waste management.
